Learning Outcome #2

In Paper #3 we had to use evidence/quotations from personal narratives from our peers. This was different from anything that I had previously done before. Back in high school an earlier in the semester we were asked to read work that people had written and then used quotations we found useful in our writing. In my essay I used a passage from one of my peers Emily Taylor. The passage said, “I also learned how much I depended on the school environment, not only for my friend to keep me occupied, but to work together to keep motivated and finish assignments. I found it is so much harder to understand schoolwork on my own and to stay motivated” (Taylor). I thought what she had wrote would support my thesis and I could also relate to it on a personal level. Because I could relate to it I found I had more to say in the analysis part of the body paragraph. I think using quotation from my classmates made my essay stronger because there was a sense of personality in my writing.
