Learning Outcome #5 & 6

I have been citing sources in MLA format for years so it has become a habit in my writing when I need to cite outside work. I have been able to correctly site my sources when looking at guide source as a reference. When revising local revisions I try and make my sentences flow more fluidly. I want to avoid making my sentences choppy or awkward. I try and avoid this my adding transition words or phrases between my sentences and paragraphs. In Project #2 I didn’t use many transitions in the beginning of my paragraphs which made my sentences choppy, but in Project #3 I definitely tried incorporating more transition sentences to in my writing to make it flow better. I find this helps make my words flow better as well as making my writing sound more structured and formal. I also keep in mind what word choice I use. I believe that word choice is an important aspect throughout a paper because can make it sound more sophisticated depending on the word choice. For example if I know I can use a stronger word to describe something/someone then I will look up synonyms of that word and see which synonym fits better. Something that I still struggle with sometimes is punctuation. Sometimes I will put a common in the wrong place or in sentence where is it not needed. I have gotten better at my punctuation over the years but I still sometimes struggle with it. I am working on improving this by having other proof read my work before I turn in assignments. This had helped me with my punctuation errors as well as any sentences errors and ideas in my writing that may not be clear.
